Being protein deficient can make somebody not grow. Their body can no longer do certain functions that are performed by proteins such as creating fingernails and things like that. It leads to weight loss and even death. Some symptoms are insomnia, skin ulcers, nausea, constant headaches, and other things. The main cause of protein deficiency is not eating enough proteins. This can be fixed by a charge of diet. Also, taking protein rich food can cure this problem. While being protein deficient, many people have wounds thatco not heal as proteins rebuild tissue. In this three class lesson, I learned that ribosomes are made of ribosomic RNA. They turn mRNA into amino acid chains along with the help of free floating amino acids. These amino acids in the chain are determined which they are by the codon that makes them. Three chemical bases on the mRNA combine into one codon, which represents an amino acid. This was very interesting to learn, as the actual basis of proteins lies within the order of the bases, determining the type of amino acid t
A cell knows when a protein is needed to be made by looking at its own DNA and genes. By doing this, it can see what kinds of proteins are needed to be built and how to build them. The DNA in Eukaryotes is in the nucleus. The nucleus receives a message from other parts of the cell alerting the need of a protein. The DNA is transcribed into mRNA so that the code can be transported to a ribosome to be read. The type of code that needs to be sent is chosen by the DNA itself. Because homeostasis must be maintained, the DNA chooses the proteins to build that will maintain homeostasis. If homeostasis is not being maintained, the DNA has instructions for solving that. It will use
